Presentation Skills
- Delivery of a pre-prepared presentation on a subject chosen by the delegate, relevant to their work.
N.B. The duration of each delegate presentation depends on the course length and the number of participants. Eight is the ideal number of participants.

Preparing a Presentation
- Key questions for the presenter to address in advance:
- Why am I the right person?
- Logistics: What, where, when, how – and for how long?
- Understanding how these answers influence the presentation structure
- Structuring the content:
- Research – gaining thorough knowledge of the subject
- Organizing the content logically
- Creating and using complementary visual aids
Preparing the Presenter
- The three fundamental communication tools for a presenter:
- Verbal – the words used, avoiding slang and jargon
- Vocal – the sound of the words, avoiding distracting verbal tics and unnecessary punctuations
- Visual – the presenter's appearance: attire, mannerisms, and presence
- Rehearsing the presentation – and obtaining honest feedback from a trustworthy source
- Managing nerves
Preparing the Environment
- Room layouts – and how they convey underlying messages to attendees
- Leveraging the room to enhance the presentation experience
Presentation Skills – Revisited
- Delivery of another presentation (after an appropriate preparation period).
N.B. This may be the same presentation as in Module 1, revised based on detailed feedback.
